Warning! Every Hard disk will fail
Well My friends in this post i would like to talk about the damned HHD (Hard Disk Drive). The sheer space it has granted us. It is at the center of big social media applications. Pentabyte upon pentabytes of data is being saved on these platters but littles does the public knows that every hard disk is bound to fail. Lets have a journey with me as i am your technology journalist.
Platters are typically made using an aluminium or glass and ceramic substrate. In disk manufacturing, a thin coating is deposited on both sides of the substrate, mostly by a vacuum deposition process called magnetron sputtering.
All of the hard disks will fail eventuealy because of the involvement of Mechanical and rotating parts. As can be seen in this image.
Most drives fail in two years and majority give way in 5 years. The better alternative to hardisk is to back up your data regularly and also or to utilize SSD Drive.
